Prelims Day 5: Physics Paper 3
September 15, 2010I was murdered by Physics Paper 3.
80-mark paper to be completed in 2 hours. 40 marks were allocated to 4 compulsory 10-mark questions, while the remaining 40 marks were spread over two 20-mark questions to be selected from 3 choices.
Well well, I was stumped by the first question. Hmm, first part-question: define simple harmonic motion. Woo, how simple, I know I successfully grabbed those 2 marks. But argh, the remaining 8 marks were really not do-able, because I didn’t, in the first place, even understand how the experimental set-up, upon which those 8 marks were based, works… >< So there is a real possibility that I could just lose all those 8 marks, zzz.
Okay, the next few compulsory questions were more manageable, luckily. If not I’d have cried. :’( LOL. On to the 3-choose-2 section. It was an easy choice to make, because one of the questions seemed to have a lot of application part-questions, which I thought I should shun. I had a rather peaceful time doing Question 5 and 7, because both questions had a high proportion of marks allocated to calculation, which I think I am more competent in. :)
But as for the qualitative part-questions, I definitely have no confidence… especially for a 4-mark one in Question 5. I hope the crap I wrote for such questions can somehow hit the marking points… If not, it would really add on to the murder committed by Question 1 and make things even worse… :\
