Lending vs Giving

January 31, 2010

I wonder, why do people ask me to lend him/her a piece of tissue when he/she cannot return it since it is used? I wonder, why do people ask me to lend him/her a piece of foolscap paper when he/she does not intend to return a blank new one and I cannot (be too cheapo to) ask for it?

I would rather people be more straightforward and use the word ‘give’ – instead of ‘lend’ – because I just think it is contradicting.

Argh

January 26, 2010

My computer is spoilt, so I won’t be blogging as often until I get it fixed.

I tried Standing Broad Jump today, but I couldn’t get a D grade for it. How irritating it’d be if I can’t get Silver because of my Standing Broad Jump. From now on, I shall focus on training my lower body instead of my upper body since my pull-ups have already reached D grade, haha. :\

I exceeded the limits

January 23, 2010

Oh dear. Just received my phone bills from SingTel. Last month (16 Dec to 15 Jan), I used 507 SMSes out of the given 500, and that cost an extra 35 cents. Not only so, I had 125.6 minutes of outgoing calls, exceeding the free 100 minutes. That added $3.85 to the bill. $4.20 in total.

My father is unhappy. :( I must make sure this is the first and last time such a thing happens.

Revelation

January 21, 2010

Why do we run anti-clockwise around the track? I suddenly thought about that when I passed by the school track on my way home from NJC on bus 156.

My theory is because right-handers tend to turn left, thus based on utilitarianism, we should all run anti-clockwise. Am I correct? Haha.
